The Shoulder Centre is part of Lakeridge Health at the Ajax Pickering Hospital. The centre is focused on significantly decreasing the time taken to diagnose shoulder conditions.
Beyond initial diagnosis, another key component was focusing on providing patient education so that patients can participate in their care actively.
“After a patient has seen a provider in the clinic there are often many questions that can crop up, after their encounter. We want to make sure that a hospital program can provide as much information as possible . This can’t always be accessed in the short time with a doctor or provider. If a video is available to you in advance of an appointment with your specialist. You can come to your appointment better armed with appropriate questions to ask.”
In consultation with their in-house surgeons and medical team, we developed focused scripts to capture in a short two day period of filming.
