Scarborough Health Network

CASE STUDY

In the spring of 2018, Scarborough Health Network (SHN) launched a pilot to help patients living with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

In the first month alone, the hospital had over 1,000 sign ups to their learning portal and their foundation’s email list increased by over 300%.

We created over 100 videos for SHN interviewing doctors, nurses, dieticians and patients. The goal was to empower patients with information on important topics when it came to managing their health.

It was an idea that was a little….over there. And we’re always looking for something a little different in terms of, how do you connect to community. The concept of short videos, snippets, fun, humour, those are things that I thought absolutely. People don’t want to listen to lecture…so you want to be entertained a little. And we thought hey, that might just work. Let’s try that. I’m really excited by it.

We then launched a social media campaign over 30 days to create brand awareness for the hospital foundation. The goal was also to ensure the Scarborough community was aware that they had free access to this health information to support them on their health journey.

The campaign directed viewers to sign up for a free online learning portal where they could easily navigate the free videos by theme on their laptop, tablet or phone.

We partnered with Jenn to create some educational videos for our large CKD community in Scarborough. Jenn sold me on the idea that short and fun were critical to being successful and she delivered big time. She was easy to work worth, produced a quality product and met her deadlines. What else could you ask for?
